How Proctorio Works Inside Canvas
Canvas integrates Proctorio through a direct LTI connection. When you start an exam, Proctorio's Chrome extension activates — enforcing browser lockdown, starting webcam recording, and enabling AI behavioral monitoring.
All monitoring happens inside Chrome. Proctorio flags tab switches, copy-paste attempts, unusual eye movement, and any new windows opened within the browser.
Why Proctorio Cannot Detect Vorqal on Canvas
Proctorio is a Chrome extension. Chrome extensions are sandboxed by the browser's security model — they can monitor tabs, screen content within Chrome, clipboard access, and browser processes. They cannot access native operating system processes, window overlays, or desktop applications.
